STUDIO HISTORY

Amber Hemmer's Academy of Dance aka "AHA!" is celebrating it's seventh season.  After opening in the Fall of 2005 with approximately 25 students, the studio continues to grow with over 100 students currently enrolled.  Conveniently located on Route 23 in Cedar Grove, the studio draws students from Cedar Grove, Verona, The Caldwells, Montclair, Glen Ridge, Bloomfield, and more.  Students can take classes in Tap, Ballet, Jazz, Lyrical, and/or Tumbling.  The studio was recently featured in Dance Studio Life Magazine.  Last year, students participated in performances at Great Adventure's DanceFest and the end of year recital entitled "I've Had The Time of My Life" at Verona High School.  Students are afforded the opportunity to attend various workshops with master instructors through Miss Amber's affiliation with Associated Dance Teachers of NJ and Dance Educators of America.  Check us out in person - plan a visit to take a trial class!

STUDIO MISSION

AHA! is a studio devoted to teaching dance not only for educational purposes and fostering future careers in dance, but also to offer students the experience of dance as a recreational activity and outlet for self-expression and creativity. The studio takes pride in teaching a graded system of material (inclusive of fundamental motor movements, dance vocabulary & technique) that progresses in a challenging, rewarding, motivating manner. Each class maintains a positive atmosphere, wherein realistic expectations are placed upon students, individuality is encouraged, and respect and discipline are enforced.

 STAFF

Staff members are certified by test to teach through one or all of the following accredited dance organizations: Dance Educators of America, Dance Masters of America, and/or Associated Dance Teachers of NJ. Our experienced instructors provide individual attention to each student.

WORK STUDY

Advanced students are invited to take part in a work study program as class demonstrators/assistants for studio credit. To qualify candidates must be enrolled in Tap, Ballet, and Jazz classes. Candidates must be proficient in each subject and are expected to set an example for younger students in behavior, attendance, and dress.
